Despite being dangerous and often unstable, captured supercriminals presented a valuable resource to the world. So, rather than carting them off to extra-dimensional prisons, some were kept in more conventional confinement and studied. To pacify these villains, an elaborate digital simulation was constructed: a prison for their minds, programmed to prevent its occupants from even realizing they were prisoners. The most capable defense contractors from around the globe have pooled and networked their resources to ensure that escape is impossible. But a spark of corruption within the Cybersphere's core code is growing...
